I’m Abdirahman Sheikh Ali, a Kenyan Software Engineer, IoT Expert, and AI Developer passionate about harnessing technology to create solutions that improve everyday life. With a strong foundation in IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity, I bring both technical depth and innovative thinking to every project I undertake.

I am the Founder of Gaashan Technologies, an initiative dedicated to advancing online child safety by developing AI-driven tools that empower parents and protect children in the digital age. I also serve as the Co-founder of Northsprout Technologies, where we design and deploy sustainable IoT-based solutions aimed at addressing pressing challenges such as energy efficiency, environmental conservation, and smart agriculture.

Over the years, I’ve built impactful systems ranging from smart IoT devices like a national award-winning smart energy meter, to LoRa-powered forest conservation tools that help curb illegal logging. My work bridges the gap between technology and society—ensuring solutions are inclusive, practical, and scalable.

Beyond engineering, I am a STEM mentor and educator, passionate about inspiring the next generation of innovators. I regularly lead outreach programs across Kenya, mentoring students on IoT, AI, and programming, with a special focus on inclusivity for differently abled learners. These experiences have deepened my belief that technology should empower everyone, regardless of background or ability.
